MONTH 9, Infrared, Week 2: All in Good time
I still haven't received back my camera which I had sent in to be converted to infrared. The company is highly reliable and they have had a special going with $50 off. I am going to call them on Monday to see what the holdup is. This is at Fairfield Hills in our home town, Newtown, CT. The area is a complex of several abandoned and detriorating buildings. The town owns the whole area.A couple of them have been restored and are in use. This one is in the midst of being restored, I think. The clock tower is of course special. I have taken many pictures of it over the years. This is a composition that is different from what I have seen. I liked the soft clouds and thought that was a nice background for the textured tower and the detailed foliage. I processed the infrared in Photoshop by flipping the red and blue channels to get a blue sky. This gave a creamy/ yellowish tint to the foliage. Infrared images are commonly processed in this manner. This process creates a faux color palette.
